InternMatch: Where Internships Grow on Trees
“Oh, get a job? Just get a job? Why don’t I strap on my job helmet and squeeze down into a job cannon and fire off into job land, where jobs grow on little jobbies?!” – Charlie It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
We can all relate to Charlie’s sarcastic rant about the frustrations of obtaining a job. Internships are not actually growing on trees, but InternMatch has made them just as accessible. It is not only a great way for you to find the perfect internship, but for top companies to contact you about open positions. Registration is easy and quick. I watched as my friend started the process at www.internmatch.com.
At registration you enter your school, major, and expected graduation date. After that information is entered, five internships are suggested to fit your profile. If none of these fit your fancy, you can search based on category, city, or company. These filters help to find the perfect internship. You can always go into your profile and enhance the information given, upload a resume, and give specific details on what you are looking for.
It is not a one stop website. InternMatch offers content and tools to help you ease into the professional world with resume and cover letter examples, and tips on making an impression. Not only do they introduce you to internship of your dreams, they make sure you are prepared to successfully apply and secure the position.
InternMatch and Employers
Here at Planwise, we found one of our awesome teammates, Colin, through InternMatch. Colin started the process in August, and by the beginning of October he had found Planwise and officially joined the gang! We have seen both sides of the process and recommend it to anyone trying to find an internship. It is free and available to all college students!

I was actually in a discussion today about a project that might be good for an intern….though it was actually more advanced than something most full-time experienced professionals could handle. Thus, idea was pushed aside with good reason
Anyway, this seems like an interesting service.

Visitors to the InternMatch website are not required to sign up to search for internship listings or to access the many informational resources available on the site. Users can create an account by clicking the white “Register” link in the upper, right hand corner of the homepage. The following page asks the user whether they are a student or employer. Students are asked to supply a first and last name, school email address, password and a list of the user’s majors. Employers must choose a subscription option before providing a company name, email address, password, contact first and last name, mailing address and phone number.
